R.I.P. USC football????

Just when I thought I was going to spend a lazy Tuesday night watching American Idol and SEC basketball, I was wrong.

Just before the speculation of USC's successor for Pete Carroll could get heated, it has already ended. After one year in Knoxville, Lane Kiffin is the one to succeed Carroll and lead the men of Troy.

With all of the controversy and secondary violations, was this really the right move that USC should make? As much as I am grateful for Lane Kiffin making my job easier, I have to ask what Mike Garrett was smoking.

With the looming NCAA investigation cloud floating over the USC program, is Lane Kiffin really the right guy for this? Not only has USC self-imposed sanctions on their basketball program, they may have self-imposed a death penalty on their football program. The NCAA, along with Phil Fulmer and Al Davis has to be chuckling madly as this news breaks.

I don't want to say this is the end of USC football as we know it. Most programs have bounced back after years of clean-up duty. However, can you really see any light at the end of this dark tunnell? Let me know if you can.
