The End of An Era!; Irish look forward...again.

You can't complain about not having enough to talk about in the sports world. What was suppose to be Championship Week in Football has turned into Survivor all in a span of 48 hours.

Charlie Weis was the first casualty of the day and it wasn't a surprise to anyone. Three losses to service academies and an almost win against USC in 2005 won't give you much job security. Notre Dame will never be back to elite status until they get a big name coach. Brian Kelley looks to be the name in serious discussion while Nick Saban, Bob Stoops, and Urban Meyer are on the Christmas wish list. I don't think Brian Kelley will have what it takes to bring Notre Dame back to the days of Knute Rockne and Lou Holtz. I look for Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate to go pro (which would be a bad decision in my opinion).

It was only a matter of time when this day would come.
ESPN Reports Bobby Bowden will announce his retirement. I respect everything that Bobby Bowden has done at Florida State and what he has done for college football. The fact of life, however, is things do change as time goes on. Florida State wasn't getting it done. What should have been ACC Championship years were 6-6 and 7-5 years. A move had to be made. However, I've never been a fan of the whole coach-in-waiting strategy. Does Jimbo Fisher really deserve to be the Head Coach at Florida St???? Is Florida St. going to be any better off?? He hasn't really set the world on fire with his offense since coming to Tallahassee from Baton Rouge. Overall, The Bowden era was going to end at Florida St. The question left to answer now, Did Florida State screw themselves with the Coach-In-Waiting???
